I’m moving to Stirling!!

This morning I received an unconditional offer to study MSc Psychology of Sport at the University of Stirling starting in September 2022!! Initially, I was sitting on a conditional offer but, with all supporting evidence now uploaded, the offer is concrete.

I could not be more delighted, as completing this course will be the next rung on the ladder towards becoming a sport psychologist.

Technically speaking the title of this article is stretching the truth - I will be moving to Stirling for university, but keeping my domestic life firmly rooted in Dundee. Having access to a car, a beautiful home, two slightly annoying cats and one slightly more annoying boyfriend (love you really) in Dundee, it makes sense to stay here and make the less-than-one-hour commute to the rolling hills of Stirlingshire every morning.

The prospect of studying at Scotland’s university of sporting excellence really excites me. Some of Stirling’s elite athletes hit the headlines as they excelled at Tokyo’s postponed 2020 Olympic Games, and the idea that I will be studying, and potentially consulting, alongside them is really fantastic. Stirling’s campus has the right to boast; brand-new multi-million pound sports facilities have recently opened, and the campus also plays host to the HQ of sportscotland, the national swimming centre and the national tennis centre. There certainly won’t be a lack of opportunities while I’m studying there and, although I still have one academic year left on my undergraduate programme, I can’t wait to get started at a new university!!
